Through her own experience with an eating disorder, Bethany understands the difficulties and complexities that arise when trying to adequately fuel the body.

    She believes that health is more than just the food you eat and the number on the scales, and genuinely seeks to support and journey with individuals to discover this for themselves.

    Bethany strives to create an open, supportive, and collaborative environment in which individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings around food and rebuild self-trust.

    In her spare time, Bethany enjoys long walks with a coffee in hand, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She is also a keen motorsports and cricket fan, often counting the days between the next big game or race.

  • Lacey (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Credential Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC). She is passionate about empowering people to improve their relationship with food. Having lived experience of an eating disorder, Lacey understands that for many people nourishing the body and mind can be challenging. She practices with compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to walk alongside you on your journey to improved health and well-being. Lacey uses a Health at Every Size (HAES) and non-diet approach, and believes that food freedom and full recovery is possible for everyone. She aims to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings around food and nutrition, offering nutritional education and guidance towards health in a collaborative environment that allows you to overcome your challenges, grow, and thrive.

    Lacey is originally from Los Angeles, California and will happily tell you she moved to Australia “for love”. She has a Bachelor of Health and Nutrition Sciences and a Master of Dietetics from The University of Queensland (UQ), as well as a Bachelor of Environmental Science (from the USA). She has recently been part of a publication in the International Journal of Eating Disorders investigating interprofessional collaborative practice in outpatient eating disorder treatment. In the future, Lacey hopes to continue working in eating disorder and nutrition research as well as in the nutrition education and health promotion areas.

    In her spare time, Lacey loves to spend time with her husband and fur babies. She is a lover of travel, being outdoors, and cooking, as well as practicing and teaching martial arts.

  • Leah Fowler (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who is passionate about personalised nutrition and the importance of diet in mental health through all stages of life. She prides herself on providing evidence-based practice and promotes a holistic and compassionate approach in her dietetic care.

    After graduating from Griffith University and completing a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, she obtained her Credentialing as an Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC) and has worked in private practices, inpatient hospital clinic, and community health care clinics.

    Over time she has developed a particular interest in the area of mental health and the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating (including ARFID), weight and body image concerns, gastrointestinal conditions, and nutritional deficiencies.

    Leah is a dedicated advocate of the Health at Every Size® (HAES®) movement and practices from a weight inclusive framework promoting improved health behaviours, body image and self-compassion for all population groups regardless of size. When working with clients she supports eating for well-being and encourages flexible eating based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs and pleasure.

    When she isn’t in the clinic, Leah enjoys weekends away camping or trips to the local markets to enjoy good food, sunshine and live music.

  • Sam (she/her) is a non-diet Accredited Practicing Dietitian who practices through a holistic, weight-neutral lens. Sam believes everyone’s health journey is unique, so she offers individualised nutrition care to guide clients in improving their relationship with food and body, ensure adequate nutrition with variety and balance, reduce disordered eating and eating disorder behaviors, build intuitive eating skills, find enjoyment in food and free up mental space for things that make you happy in life. Sam follows an All-Foods-Fit philosophy and is passionate about empowering others to find food freedom.

    After graduating from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Sam has worked in Australia, Canada and the US as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian/ Registered Dietitian managing community food education programs and treating eating disorders in inpatient/residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care. Sam believes recovery is possible for everyone and takes a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to compassionately walk alongside clients in their journey.

    Sam’s training as a certified yoga teacher helps to inform her dietetic practice, integrating mindfulness, gratitude, grounding skills and self-compassion. When Sam is not in the clinic or practicing yoga, she spends most of her time doing outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, snowboarding and camping and also values spending time with family and friends, seeing live music and of course dining out or enjoying home-cooked food.

  • Shane (he/him) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over 25 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors. During this time he has worked almost exclusively in the field of eating disorders and the broader area of weight and body image concerns, establishing himself as a nationally and internationally recognised expert in the field. Shane is a compassionate and understanding Dietitian, dedicating his career to helping those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, weight and body image concerns as well as offering sports nutrition support for athletes. Shane provides professional supervision to dietitians, serves on a number of advisory committees, and regularly offers presentations and workshops to health professionals.

    As the founder and clinical director at River Oak Health, Shane is committed to growing the service with a focus on high quality, evidence-based interventions. While Shane maintains a small clinical caseload, he is also passionate about supporting the professional development of multi-disciplinary practitioners in the eating disorder and non-diet space.

    Outside of work Shane is a cyclist and regularly takes part in running events. He also loves getting outdoors, whether it be hiking or camping trips with his family. Shane is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician and an Accredited Sports Dietitian.

  • Tabitha (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) passionate about helping athletes and dancers achieve peak performance through balanced nutrition. Having trained at an elite level in ballet and currently working as a ballet teacher, she has firsthand experience of the physical and mental demands of high-level training.

    Tabitha is dedicated to empowering dancers and athletes to develop healthier, more sustainable relationships with food, their bodies, and their minds. She strives to create open, honest conversations around nutrition, fuelling, and recovery, helping individuals navigate challenges and cultivate a positive mindset around eating — free from guilt or restriction.

    Her commitment to this field stems from her personal experiences in balancing performance fuelling and a healthy relationship with food. This journey inspires her to help others build trust in their bodies, overcome restrictive mindsets, and establish sustainable habits that nurture both their physical and mental well-being for the long-term. 

    Outside of work, Tabitha is always up for a coffee run, spontaneous Bunnings trips to find new plants, getting creative with arts and crafts, Pilates sessions, Saturday morning Park Run, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

  • Tori (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with a strong interest in eating disorders, mental health, and chronic disease. She is passionate about supporting individuals to build a positive, sustainable relationship with food, grounded in compassionate, evidence-based care.

    Tori works with clients across a range of presentations, including eating disorder recovery, disordered eating, and chronic health conditions. She focuses on reducing guilt and confusion around food, supporting consistent nutrition, and helping clients reconnect with their body’s needs. Her approach recognises the interplay between nutrition, mindset, and identity, particularly in environments where food, control, and body image intersect.

    Tori also has an interest in sports nutrition. With a background as an international-level weightlifter and former CrossFit Games teen athlete, she brings insight into the demands of training and weight-focused environments, supporting athletes with fuelling, recovery, and RED-S prevention.

     Alongside this, Tori supports clients with chronic disease, weight concerns, and general health, using practical, flexible strategies tailored to the individual.

     Outside the clinic, Tori enjoys time outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her dog, cat and husband.

  • Elizabeth is a clinical social worker specialising in guiding individuals through eating disorder recovery and other co-occurring mental health challenges. Born and raised in New York, Elizabeth received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Masters of Social Work from New York University before permanently immigrating to Australia in 2022. Elizabeth brings with her into the therapeutic space relevant knowledge and expertise in the treatment of eating disorders as well as her own lived experience with, and fully recovering from, an eating disorder. Through active listening, curiosity, exploration and collaboration, Elizabeth assists individuals in finding freedom from their eating disorder, improving body image, and living a life in line with their identified recovery values.

    Elizabeth has expertise working with adolescents and adults with Anorexia, Bulimia, BED, OSFED, and ARFID. Elizabeth is particularly interested in the intersection between trauma and eating disorders, with experience treating co-morbid PTSD, anxiety and depression. Elizabeth has worked for many years in the private sector offering individual psychotherapy, therapeutic meal support, recovery coaching and facilitating eating disorder skills and support groups.

    Elizabeth creates a warm and compassionate environment in which individuals can feel safe to unpack their harmful beliefs around food and their bodies. She then assists folks in exploring new ways to be in a safe relationship with themselves and finding healthier ways to cope with life’s stressors. Elizabeth believes strongly in rebelling against diet culture, advocating against weight stigma and approaches all work from a health at every size (HAES) lens.

    With a warm, gentle, and non-judgemental approach, Georgie supports individuals, family members, and loved ones to better understand their experiences and navigate the complexities of recovery.

  • Jack is a registered psychologist who works with adolescents and adults across a range of presentations, including eating disorders, body image concerns, trauma, and neurodevelopmental differences. He has experience supporting clients in both in-person and telehealth settings, including those in regional and remote communities.

    Jack brings a collaborative and client-centred approach to his work, with a strong focus on engaging family members and other supports to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes. He has particular experience working with young people, including those with autism, and is passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care.

    His therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills.   • Lahnee (she/her) is a Counsellor who works with children, adolescents, and adults, with a strong focus on eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. She supports clients to move away from cycles of shame, control, and self-criticism, and towards a more compassionate and connected relationship with themselves and their body.

    Lahnee works from a trauma-informed, weight-neutral, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming framework, and is committed to creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel supported to explore their experiences at their own pace. She has a particular interest in early intervention and supporting young people navigating eating disorders and body image challenges.

    Her therapeutic approach is both holistic and integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), somatic work, narrative therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. Lahnee also brings experience in couples work and sexology, supporting clients to explore intimacy, relationships, and identity in ways that feel safe, authentic, and aligned.

    Lahnee’s clinical interests include eating disorders in children and adolescents, body image, anxiety, neurodivergence, and supporting individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community.   • Merve (she/her) is a provisionally registered psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. As a qualified Clinical Psychologist in her home country of Turkey, Merve is in the process of transferring her qualifications over to Australia. Merve brings a strong blend of academic and clinical background to her work, with experience in client consultation, research, teaching, and supervision. With an interest the relationships between eating, exercise and body related concerns, her practice is informed by both research and clinical experience.  Merve is particularly interested in helping clients better understand their internal world, working collaboratively to explore emotions and the underlying needs they represent. She supports clients to build a more integrated and embodied sense of self, with the goal of helping them feel more at ease within themselves and in their relationships. In addition to her interest in eating disorders, Merve also has an interest in anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and emotional regulation.

    Having lived and worked across different cultures, Merve brings a thoughtful and culturally sensitive lens to her work, particularly in relation to body image and identity.

    Her therapeutic approach is largely built around Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with relational and psychodynamic perspectives. She has completed extensive training in Interpersonal and Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy through the William Alanson White Institute and was awarded a fellowship in contemporary psychoanalytic perspectives, supporting her to blend structured, evidence-based strategies with deeper, insight-oriented work.

  • Tara Diversi (she/her) is a provisionally registered psychologist based in Cairns and available via telehealth. She is currently completing her Master of Clinical Psychology at Charles Darwin University.

    Warm, down-to-earth, and known for bringing humour into her work, Tara genuinely believes that positive change is possible for everyone — and she'll be right there alongside you working towards it.

    Tara brings over 20 years of experience as an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Sports Dietitian to her psychological practice, including a long specialisation in eating disorders. This background informs a genuinely integrative, whole-person approach to mental health and wellbeing.

    She is particularly passionate about supporting people in corporate, executive, leadership, and entrepreneurial roles who are navigating mental health conditions and trauma-related challenges. Tara is experienced in providing culturally safe care for First Nations people, and takes a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach in all her work. She takes an individualised, collaborative approach drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, and dual-brain psychotherapy. Within coaching and corporate contexts, she also integrates Gallup Strengths, Enneagram, and NeuroPower-informed approaches.

    As someone living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Tara has a personal understanding of navigating life with a chronic health condition, and brings that lived experience into her work with clients.

    Tara is the author and co-author of seven books and has published peer-reviewed research in the areas of weight bias, extreme sports, and digital health.

    In her leisure time, Tara loves spending time with her family and her two rascal dogs, Pearl and Panda. She is also an adventure sports enthusiast who loves pushing limits — she has swum the English Channel and was the first Australian woman to complete an ice mile.

  • Giorgia (she/her) is currently working as an Administrator at River Oak Health. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science at Griffith University in hopes to become a Clinical Psychologist.

    In her spare time, Giorgia enjoys playing AFL, reading a good book and spending quality time with her friends and family.

  • Hannah (she/her) is working as an Administrator at River Oak Health while studying a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) at QUT, in te hopes of becoming a paediatric psychologist in the future.

    In her spare time, Hannah enjoys going to the gym/pilates, going on walks, and spending time with family and friends. She also loves to travel and explore the world.

    At the beginning of 2021, Shaylee began to work towards her dream career of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, by studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Griffith University. In future clinical work, Shaylee is interested in supporting people with various experiences and concerns, including those experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. However, while she works towards this, Shaylee is grateful to work in an environment where she is able to gently assist people through their therapy/recovery journey however she can behind the reception desk at River Oak Health.
