Stephanie Bennet Dietitian
  • Steph is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) who is passionate about bringing holistic, trauma-informed nutrition care to her clients. She holds a Bachelor of Dietetics (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and has accumulated valuable experience working in private practice and private hospitals over the years.

    Steph has completed additional study and is recognised as a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. Her comprehensive approach considers both physical and psychological aspects of nutrition and aims to empower clients through a non-diet approach.

    In addition to working with eating disorder, she has several years’ experience working in a specialised gastroenterology clinic. Through evidence-based interventions and a patient-centred approach, she assists clients in managing a range of gastrointestinal concerns. Stephanie understands the intricate relationship between diet and gut health, empowering her clients to make informed dietary choices that alleviate symptoms and improve overall well-being.

    In her spare time, Steph is always keen to try something new, whether that's a new recipe in the kitchen, a new travel location or going to the newest restaurant.

Sean Cornish Dietitian
  • Sean (he/him) has been in health for most of his adult life after moving to Brisbane from Melbourne for uni to become a dietitian. While studying, Sean started a Personal Training business and eventually established Your Fit, a studio in Brisbane's northside. He runs that with his wife and team of trainers where the focus is on building healthy habits and sustainable behaviour change with a smile on your face! Life doesn't have to be serious all the time!

    Sean has 2 young daughters and is really passionate about changing the way our culture relates to food and our health. Sean often reflects on his own struggles with weight and food through his teens and really feels for people in this space as the pressure has only increased. Sean is as enthusiastic as he is curious and believes nutrition can be a great tool to build self trust and ultimately provide us with the energy to take on challenges worth taking on.

    In Sean’s down time he is an aspiring athlete in the Just Dance arena, usually counting down the time between fishing trips and runs a few marathons as well.

  • Lacey (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Credential Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC). She is passionate about empowering people to improve their relationship with food. Having lived experience of an eating disorder, Lacey understands that for many people nourishing the body and mind can be challenging. She practices with compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to walk alongside you on your journey to improved health and well-being. Lacey uses a Health at Every Size (HAES) and non-diet approach, and believes that food freedom and full recovery is possible for everyone. She aims to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings around food and nutrition, offering nutritional education and guidance towards health in a collaborative environment that allows you to overcome your challenges, grow, and thrive.

    Lacey is originally from Los Angeles, California and will happily tell you she moved to Australia “for love”. She has a Bachelor of Health and Nutrition Sciences and a Master of Dietetics from The University of Queensland (UQ), as well as a Bachelor of Environmental Science (from the USA). She has recently been part of a publication in the International Journal of Eating Disorders investigating interprofessional collaborative practice in outpatient eating disorder treatment. In the future, Lacey hopes to continue working in eating disorder and nutrition research as well as in the nutrition education and health promotion areas.

    In her spare time, Lacey loves to spend time with her husband and fur babies. She is a lover of travel, being outdoors, and cooking, as well as practicing and teaching martial arts.

  • Leah Fowler (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who is passionate about personalised nutrition and the importance of diet in mental health through all stages of life. She prides herself on providing evidence-based practice and promotes a holistic and compassionate approach in her dietetic care.

    After graduating from Griffith University and completing a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, she obtained her Credentialing as an Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC) and has worked in private practices, inpatient hospital clinic, and community health care clinics.

    Over time she has developed a particular interest in the area of mental health and the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating (including ARFID), weight and body image concerns, gastrointestinal conditions, and nutritional deficiencies.

    Leah is a dedicated advocate of the Health at Every Size® (HAES®) movement and practices from a weight inclusive framework promoting improved health behaviours, body image and self-compassion for all population groups regardless of size. When working with clients she supports eating for well-being and encourages flexible eating based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs and pleasure.

    When she isn’t in the clinic, Leah enjoys weekends away camping or trips to the local markets to enjoy good food, sunshine and live music.

Shane Jeffrey Dietitian
  • Shane (he/him) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over 25 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors. During this time he has worked almost exclusively in the field of eating disorders and the broader area of weight and body image concerns, establishing himself as a nationally and internationally recognised expert in the field. Shane is a compassionate and understanding Dietitian, dedicating his career to helping those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, weight and body image concerns as well as offering sports nutrition support for athletes. Shane provides professional supervision to dietitians, serves on a number of advisory committees, and regularly offers presentations and workshops to health professionals.

    As the founder and clinical director at River Oak Health, Shane is committed to growing the service with a focus on high quality, evidence-based interventions. While Shane maintains a small clinical caseload, he is also passionate about supporting the professional development of multi-disciplinary practitioners in the eating disorder and non-diet space.

    Outside of work Shane is a cyclist and regularly takes part in running events. He also loves getting outdoors, whether it be hiking or camping trips with his family. Shane is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician and an Accredited Sports Dietitian.

Nicole Lambert Dietitian
  • Nicole (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who practices through a weight neutral, non-diet evidence based lens and appreciates that health is much more complex than what you eat. She believes that food should be delicious and nourishing and what this looks like is highly variable from person to person.

    Nicole helps clients who are struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating. She practices with empathy, compassion, integrity and collaboration by listening and understanding everyone’s unique story. She will help you learn how to improve your relationship with food and nourish your body through a blend of education and self-empowerment.

    Outside of work you’ll often find Nicole spending time outdoors in the beautiful sunshine with her dog Thea, eating delicious food with her friends and family or immersed in a good book. Otherwise she’ll be in the kitchen experimenting with a new recipe or relaxing in front of the T.V.

  • Bethany (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) passionate about empowering people to improve their relationship with food and eating. Through her own experience with an eating disorder, Bethany understands the difficulties and complexities that arise when trying to adequately fuel the body.

    She believes that health is more than just the food you eat and the number on the scales, and genuinely seeks to support and journey with individuals to discover this for themselves.

    Bethany strives to create an open, supportive, and collaborative environment in which individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings around food and rebuild self-trust.

    In her spare time, Bethany enjoys long walks with a coffee in hand, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She is also a keen motorsports and cricket fan, often counting the days between the next big game or race.

  • Anna is a psychotherapist and counsellor specialised in guiding individuals to recovery from eating disorders and other self-destructive behaviours. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and post-graduate qualifications as a teacher and counsellor, Anna brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her practice. She also draws upon her lived experience as a carer of a loved one with an eating disorder, to offer a unique perspective and deep empathy to her clients and their family supports.

    Anna is specialised in the treatment of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified feeding or eating disorders (OSFED) and approaches treatment with a blend of empathy, expertise, and unwavering commitment.

    Anna provides an holistic approach to healing and utilises modalities such as compassionate inquiry, parts work, schema therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She assists her clients to –

    • explore the underlying emotions and beliefs driving their disordered eating behaviours, fostering deep understanding and self-compassion;

    • engage with and understand the different aspects of themselves, facilitating integration and harmony;

    • identify and challenge maladaptive patterns and beliefs contributing to the eating disorder, promoting lasting change and emotional well-being; and

  • Felicity (she/her) has been a psychologist for over 20 years. She has a wealth of experience working with children, parents, and families. She loves meeting new people, and has a warm, friendly approach. In both her work and leisure activities, she draws on her strengths of creativity and playfulness.

    Felicity provides a safe, engaging environment for the people who consult with her. She listens to others with empathy and respect. She takes time to get to know a person, their strengths as well as their challenges. She celebrates diversity and honours each person’s unique view and experience of the world. She approaches therapy with a kind, curious, and open heart, and plenty of humour.

    Felicity is a credentialed eating disorder clinician. She is passionate about reducing weight stigma, breaking free of diet culture, and promoting body positivity. She advocates for a non-diet approach to health. One that emphasises the pleasure and social functions of eating; and the importance of learning how to relate to oneself and others with kindness and compassion. Felicity supports children and adolescents to overcome eating and body image concerns by empowering parents and strengthening family relationships. She also works individually with young people to build their self-efficacy, coping skills, and autonomy.

    Whenever possible, Felicity looks for opportunities to nurture herself with yoga and dance, explorations of nature, delicious food, and playful connection with her children, her family, and her friends.

  • Jo is a warm, empathic and experienced occupational therapist, graduating from The University of Queensland in 2008 with a Masters of Occupational Therapy Studies, and an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2005.

    As an experienced eating disorder therapist, Jo is an ANZAED Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, and has received training in cognitive behaviour therapy enhanced (CBT-e) in the United Kingdom. Jo has provided both group and individual based therapy for people experiencing eating disorders within the public health system as part of the Queensland Eating Disorders Service (QuEDS), and within the private sector in the UK. Jo has experience providing extensive case management services to people experiencing eating disorders within a range of community mental health services.

    Jo is a passionate advocate for her clients and enjoys working collaboratively with them towards a life in which they can participate in all meaningful activities and enhance overall well being. Jo enjoys developing a therapeutic relationship with her clients, in combination with providing the most current, evidence-based practice.

    In her spare time, Jo is a busy mum of two and enjoys spending time with family, friends and pets!

  • Oriana (she/her) is a registered psychologist who is passionate about helping individuals flourish and overcome their eating disorder and other mental health challenges. She works with individuals with warmth, curiosity, and openness, and endorses a holistic and strength-based approach.

    Oriana also values the therapeutic relationship built with individuals and aims to create a safe space for vulnerability and connection. She practices with a trauma-informed lens.

    Oriana endeavours to personalise treatments for each individual within the frameworks of evidence-based interventions. She advocates for Health At Every Size (HAES), and embraces weight inclusivity and body neutrality. She acknowledges the importance of social support on the recovery of eating disorder and mental health challenges, and hence aims to help individuals cultivate and nurture their own interpersonal relationships.

    Currently working towards to becoming a credentialed eating disorder clinician, Oriana has experience working across settings like non-profit psychology clinics, hospitals, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation services, and headspace. She has also accumulated experience working with a diverse population aged 8 to 80 with presentations like ADHD, ASD, PTSD, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, and chronic pain.

    In her free time, Oriana can often be found in her kitchen experimenting with new foods or “upcycling” leftovers. Other times, she enjoys spending quality time with friends or self-teaching ukulele. She also enjoys staying active in ways that make her appreciate her body like weight- training and playing badminton.

    Registered psychologist, qualifications in Master of Counselling Psychology. Oriana is currently up-skilling in Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E), Family Based Treatment (FBT), and Temperament Based Therapy with Support for Anorexia Nervosa (TBT-S).

    She also practices Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and positive psychology.

  • Dr Rhys Thomas (he/him) is a psychiatrist currently working both publicly and privately. He completed his training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and worked in the Queensland Eating Disorders Service (QuEDS) as well as the state-wide inpatient unit.

    Dr Thomas currently works as a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has a clinical interest in eating disorders and is a clinical lead in the Metro South eating disorders working group.

    Dr Thomas has a special interest in health practitioner health, and was recently elected as President of Doctors’ Health in Queensland. He is keen to promote better health access for doctor patients and to improve doctors' mental health. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his rescue greyhound Harry.

  • Michelle (she/her) is the Practice Manager at River Oak Health.

    Michelle brings a wealth of experience in the management field that stems from years of working in the child care industry.

    Outside of work, Michelle will often be tucked up with a good book (or two), spending time in the garden with her beloved pet cats and chickens, or hiking on the trails in the bush.

  • Shaylee (she/her) is currently working as an Administrator at River Oak Health.

    At the beginning of 2021, Shaylee began to work towards her dream career of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, by studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Griffith University. In future clinical work, Shaylee is interested in supporting people with various experiences and concerns, including those experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. However, while she works towards this, Shaylee is grateful to work in an environment where she is able to gently assist people through their therapy/recovery journey however she can behind the reception desk at River Oak Health.

    In Shaylee’s spare time, you can find her relaxing by the beach with a book in hand, practising yoga and spending quality time with the people she loves.

  • Laura (she/her) is currently working as an Administrator at River Oak Health. Her work history includes roles working in community services, the entertainment industry and most recently in education. Laura has a special interest in working in the mental health field, born from her time practising as a Social Worker.

    In her free time, Laura enjoys playing board games, doting on her cat and attending movies or theatre performances.

  • Sophie (she/her) comes from a background in medical administration and is currently completing a Bachelor in Health Science (Clinical Nutrition) with her dream to pursue a career as a practising dietitian. She has a real interest around the area of eating disorders, body image issues and being able to support people through their journey.
